A Certain Magical Index is a light novel franchise by Kamachi Kazuma. There is also a spin-off franchises known as A Certain Scientific Railgun and A Certain Scientific Accelerator. The franchise as a whole is sometimes referred to as RailDex.

Trivia

This series features a fictionalized depiction of the real world person named Aleister Crowley. In real life 1902, he took a Cold Bath in the waters of the mountain K2 during the first attempt to climb it and was photographed doing so.
