Hip Bath

A Hip Bath explained in Lady Victorian

Hip Bath (ヒップバス Hippu basu) is a type of small Victorian Bathtub that is similar to a chair. It is like a Slipper Bathtub but small and is similar to bathing in a Washtub due to the tub being very shallow. This type of bath is known as a Sitz Bath (半身浴), the concept of a sitz bath is practiced in modern day for medical uses and is mostly done today in a normal sized bathtub that is shallow enough to just cover the hips.

Lady Victorian is the only known fictional work from Japan that has visually depicted a hip bath.
